Sweet Escape was founded in Jacksonville, Florida as a result of many friends, and friends of friends asking us to bake cakes and cookies for them for various occasions. We never dreamed that doing something that we enjoyed so much could turn into Sweet Escape and that a hobby could be so fulfilling. All of our bakery items are homemade from fresh ingredients. Many of our products are made from old family recipes.
Our goal is to provide quality products and service for our customers. All of our products are made at the time the order is placed, therefore we need at least 36 hours notice. If you would like us to make something that is not on our menu, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you.
In addition to our baked goods we also offer a variety of hors d’oeuvres, salads, fruits and vegetables for your special luncheon or party. If you have something special on you mind, we are willing to work with you. Do not hesitate to ask.
Marti has been a retail manager since graduating from college. She enjoys working with people. After moving several times, courtesy of the United States Navy, Marti and her family settled in Jacksonville, Florida sixteen years ago. Christine grew up in a big family in the small town of Fort Grant, Arizona. Her mom was a busy woman raising six kids. So, it was only natural for Christine, as the oldest, to take an interest in cooking and baking.
In 1976, she moved to Jacksonville with her husband and daughter also courtesy of the U.S. Navy. A few years later her family moved to Germany. That's where she got to taste, and make some of the best pastries in the world.
Well, now she's back in Florida and ready to bake. Her family and friends have encouraged her to turn a hobby into a business. With her friend, she has accomplished a goal. It's a dream come true. |
